A history of excellence ...

At Mustang Public Schools, participating in athletics is more than donning a jersey or picking up a tennis racket. It’s an opportunity to learn about the importance of teamwork, the rewards of diligent practice and the meaning of personal responsibility and leadership.

Mustang Public Schools offers competitive athletic opportunities for students beginning in the seventh grade. District Athletic Director Mike Clark said the foundation for Mustang’s outstanding programs and athletes begins in the middle school programs.

“Mustang Public Schools offers competitive athletic opportunities for students beginning in the seventh grade,” he said. “Dreams and dedication are a powerful combination. We want to teach our student athletes to dream big and work hard in the classroom and on the playing field.”

Mustang is known as an athletic leader and formidable opponent. In every sport offered from football to wrestling, the Broncos and Lady Broncos boast an extensive list of champions and state qualifiers. Clark said one of the secrets to the athletic program’s success is quality coaches who don’t wait for talent to show up.

“At Mustang Public Schools, we believe athletic participation gives an added dimension to the student’s overall high school experience. Our mission is to inspire champions today and prepare leaders for tomorrow,” he said. “To do this we must provide an excellent environment that will enable students to achieve excellence both academically and athletically.
